Field Notes

Genesys Cloud Release Notes — August 17, 2026

Five items, no deprecations, no deadlines. A quiet week, which is a good week to clear the backlog from the last two.

TL;DR

  • Universal Logout synchronizes user-initiated logouts across every linked client.
  • Supervisors and case managers get a centralized view for browsing and managing cases.
  • The Agent Copilot Performance dashboard filters and metrics postponed earlier this month are back.
  • Associate mobile picks up queue context, voicemail transcripts, and outbound calling on behalf of a queue.

Account Management

Universal Logout

Administrators can enable an organization-level setting that logs a user out of every active client when they log out of one. It covers user-initiated logouts only and does not synchronize inactivity timeouts.

If your agents work across an embedded CRM client, a browser tab, and a desktop app, logging out has meant three separate actions, and most people did one and assumed the rest followed. That's a security gap in shared-workstation environments, and this closes it.

Read the limitation carefully before you sell it internally as a security control. Inactivity timeouts still expire independently, so a walked-away session in one client is not handled by this setting. Universal Logout fixes deliberate logout, not abandonment.

Customer Engagement

Central case management view

Supervisors and case managers can browse, search, and manage active and closed cases from one place, with actions to view details, update, and terminate individual cases.

Work Automation has been building out steadily, and this fills the obvious hole. Cases you could create and route but not survey as a set were hard to manage at any volume. A supervisor needs to see what's aging, what's stuck, and what should be closed, and that requires a list.

If you're running Work Automation today, this is the first thing to open on Tuesday.

Employee Productivity

Agent Copilot Performance dashboard, take two

Filtering the Agent Copilot Performance dashboard by Copilot or by queue is back, along with answer generation metrics and After Call Work summary generation time. This shipped in the August 3 notes, got postponed to August 6, and now lands properly.

Worth the wait if you run Copilot at any scale. Aggregate numbers across every Copilot and every queue told you almost nothing about which configuration was working. Per-queue answer generation metrics let you compare a well-tuned knowledge base against a neglected one and see the difference.

The summary generation time metric is the sleeper. If After Call Work summaries take longer than agents are willing to wait, they stop using them, and you'd otherwise learn that from anecdotes rather than a number.

Script editor accessibility

The script editor UI gets modernized with updated tooling aimed at building more accessible scripts.

The release note is thin on specifics, so I'd treat this as "open the editor and look" rather than a planned piece of work. Accessibility in agent-facing tooling is chronically underserved, so any movement here is welcome, but you'll have to evaluate what changed against your own requirements.

Associate mobile improvements

The Associate mobile voice experience gets a batch of additions for Communicate users: the final queue or group that handled a call, external contact names on active calls and in history, voicemail transcripts, outbound calling on behalf of a queue, transferring active calls to queues, and visibility when another group member answers a group ring. WebRTC stations also re-associate automatically at login.

That last item is the one that stops support tickets. Mobile users losing their station association and then not receiving calls is a confusing failure, because everything looks fine from the user's side.

What this means for your contact center

Nothing here forces a project, and nothing expires. Use the week.

Universal Logout is the only item that touches security posture, and it's a single org-level setting. Enable it, but describe it accurately to whoever tracks your controls: it addresses deliberate logout across linked clients, not idle sessions.

The Copilot dashboard filters are the item most likely to change a decision. If you've been unable to justify Copilot spend because the numbers were undifferentiated, per-Copilot and per-queue breakdowns give you something defensible at renewal.

For everyone on Work Automation, the case view is the piece that makes the product supervisable rather than merely functional.

What to check

  • Enable Universal Logout and confirm the behavior with a user signed into multiple clients.
  • Document that Universal Logout does not synchronize inactivity timeouts before adding it to a controls list.
  • Open the new case management view and set up the searches your supervisors will use daily.
  • Filter the Agent Copilot Performance dashboard by queue and compare answer generation metrics across your best and worst configured queues.
  • Check After Call Work summary generation time against what agents will tolerate.
  • Update Associate mobile users and confirm queue-based outbound calling works for the people who need it.
